Arran MSP
Allan Wilson Responds Quickly to Offers by RBS And HBOS.
The Arran MSP would like to hear form constituents
with difficulties to use
as examples in pressing the case
for ‘free-to-use’ ATMs on the island.

Arran MSP Allan Wilson has
responded quickly to the offers by the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and
Halifax and Bank of Scotland (HBOS) to install 400 free to use cash machines
in some of the UKs poorest and most rural locations by suggesting Arran
could host one or more such machines.
“ In recent years the number of free cash machines has stood still while the
number of fee-charging machines has grown apace. RBS has invited members of
Parliament to nominate areas where they think the new cash machines should
be located and I immediately thought of Arran as a good case for their
deployment” said Mr Wilson.
“As a frequent visitor to Arran I am aware that in parts of the island
securing quick and easy access to your own cash from an ATM can be costly
particularly if you are elderly or infirm or don’t have access to
transport.” said Mr Wilson
“I would be pleased to hear from constituents in this situation on the
island and I will use their examples to press the case for Arran to be
included in this exercise and hopefully secure more ‘free-to-use’ ATMs for
the island” said Mr Wilson.
