The
existing road layout at the
junction is dangerous.
The traffic calming measures will benefit not only
local residents but also the students and families who use the Inverclyde
Sports Centre.

Work on traffic calming
measures at the junction of Burnside Road and Way is expected to be
completed this month according to local MSP Allan Wilson.
“I raised the dangerous nature of the existing road layout with North
Ayrshire Council after representations from Inverclyde Sports Centre
Principal John Kent. He was concerned at the number of accidents and that
someone was going to be injured and asked that I intervened to assist him in
securing the necessary improvements” said Mr Wilson.
“I’m pleased that proposals were produced to prevent any further incidents
at this junction and that traffic calming work will commence shortly and be
completed this month. This will bring benefits to local residents and
visitors to the Centre alike. Many local people had been experiencing damage
to their property and danger to themselves and their families and this will
improve their quality of life” added Mr Wilson.
John Kent Principal of Inverclyde Sports Centre said;
“I would like to thank Allan Wilson for his assistance. This junction has
been a problem for some time. The traffic calming measures will benefit not
only local residents but also the students and families who use the Centre”
